Arvind Krishna will take charge as chief executive officer of IBM Corp in April, joining the elite ranks of India-born technology czars who lead some of the world’s most valuable and consequential corporations that are battling for supremacy in the digital sweepstakes.

Krishna, the co-author of 15 patents, will be able to “add a lot of meat around the hybrid cloud, multi cloud story”, said Sanchit Vir Gogia, chief analyst and CEO at Greyhound Research. Gogia credits Rometty with grooming Krishna for the top job.
