Anand Mahindra is seeking fresh blood to power his group’s move to digital, and is on the prowl for 20 ‘high-powered folks’ to make his seven-decade old auto-to-defence conglomerate more digitally savvy as Indian businesses go through a wave of technological disruption.
“In the last six months, there has been a spike in the number of hiring mandates out there for data scientists from traditional conglomerates. Earlier it was mostly startups looking for people in the digital, innovation and customer insight space,” said Sanchit Vir Gogia, chief analyst at Greyhound Research. Data scientists explore, understand and provide feedback on products and services, helping conglomerates engage better with customers, Gogia said.
