EMC has released the findings of a survey that highlights IT decision makers’ perspective on IT’s role as an enabler of business change during the shift towards the mega trends of cloud, mobile, social and big data.
Entering into the cloud arena, EMC has collaborated with cloud service providers Netmagic and Sungard AS, as part of a larger effort to target the cloud market opportunity in India which is estimated to be $1 billion by 2015 according to Greyhound Research.
Sanchit Vir Gogia, Chief Analyst and Group CEO of Greyhound Research said, “The addressable cloud market in India is expected to hit the $1billion mark by 2015. This massive growth is being driven by the advent of social, mobile, analytics, and cloud (SMAC)and its quick transition from being a mere buzzword to impacting the delivery of business outcomes for enterprises. SMAC is helping organizations reduce their CAPEX, enhance customer engagement, increase productivity and work on outcomes that matter to business. Most CIOs today recognize this change and are talking about using technology that drives real business outcomes, the key to which is successful collaboration between service providers and IT vendors.”
