Industry experts believe that Cognizant will not see much impact from its ongoing case with the income tax authorities in India.
“Cognizant is not a company that is known to be non-compliant. That said, a company of its stature should have taken care to ensure that the ambiguity in taxation was indicated to the tax authorities,” said Sanchit Vir Gogia, CEO of Greyhound Research.
“Especially when the companies are listed, they attract greater scrutiny. However, one can give Cognizant the benefit of the doubt given the ambiguity in the taxation process,” said Greyhound’s Gogia.
