VMware’s mobility security company Airwatch has sold over a million licenses in India in a little over a year of operations, and is being looked at as a serious name in the mobile device management space in India.

According to Sanchit Vir Gogia, CEO at Greyhound Research,  Airwatch is winning higher deals because of their competitive pricing. “They are very aggressive on pricing. Where they are winning is that they are able to successfully combine their product pricing, which is their license pricing, with their managed services,” he said.

“AirWatch had a late start compared to MobileIron. But they have been able to move the product ecosystem in a significant way. They’re undoubtedly the market leader in India from the point of view of mobile device management,” said Greyhound’s Gogia.
