Theresa May To Skip Visit To IT firms In Bengaluru As UK Turns Protectionist

A visiting British Prime Minister is skipping a pilgrimage to local software companies in Bengaluru for the first time in over fifteen years. Instead, Theresa May has a trip to Dynamatics Technologies, an aerospace and hydraulic pumps manufacturer, which has three factories in the UK generating jobs locally.

“The broader sentiment in the move by UK is not pro outsourcing. It is very inward looking and veering towards protectionism,” says Sanchit Vir Gogia, Chief Analyst and CEO of Greyhound Research.
