The adoption of smart-phones in India is now on an inevitable growth track with the numbers bound to rise in near future. The ‘supersonic’ surge in the smart-phone usage is evident with the fact that the sales of these power machines grew over three-folds to touch 12.8 million units in India in the third quarter of 2013, according to global research firm IDC.  At present there is a cut throat competition prevailing among the handset manufacturers to offer the best consumer experience via a rapid up gradation of the hardware as well as the software of the smart devices at an affordable price.

Adding to that Sanchit Vir Gogia, Founder & CEO, Greyhound Knowledge Group states that apart from improving the hardware and the applications on a smart phone, the manufacturers should also stress on strengthening the battery as it is one of the most vital factor for a user.

As the smart-phone penetration elevates in the country it has also compelled the users to seek for external power back up devices such as portable power banks available in the market, addressing the complain of a low battery backup of smart devices which leads to an additional cost to the consumer’s pocket.

But before your anxiety influences your decision to get a smart phone, here is some good news that the Smart phone manufacturers have now started to consider the backup part as an important aspect and are very likely to come up with a solution in near future if experts are to be believed.

‘’Scientists are working in the US on a battery salt which will provide a significant improvement in the power backup of smart phones as compared to a Li-ion battery,’’ states Gogia.
