VMware looks to thrive under Dell

Virtualisation software maker VMware expects the takeover of its parent, EMC Corp, by Dell to help it make inroads into the small and medium enterprises and businesses market in India, where the US technology giant has a large presence.

Experts agree that Dell’s strong presence in the SMB space will help VMware.”Dell has a high footprint in SMBs and very deep channel partner relationships,” said Sanchit Vir Gogia, chief analyst and group CEO at Greyhound Research. “Licence renewal, configuration, orchestra ion layer and storage and network vir ualisation are the segments from where the business is coming for VMware,” Gogia added.
