GoDaddy, Scottsdale, Arizona-based registrar of Internet names, has a made a name for itself in the Indian market with rates as low as Rs 59 per month, notching up over a million customers and stealing well-known newage internet clients away from competitors.
Competitors such as Directi or Bigrock have followed a similar path, but traditional players such as Sify, Net4India, Netcore solution that were market leaders during dotcom boom didn’t see the cloud wave coming, said Sanchit Vir Gogia, chief analyst and CEO of Greyhound Research, an IT and telecom advisory.
