Technology giant Oracle has launched its cloud computing service for India, which aims to support the government’s GST rollout in July and plans to open data centres in the country. Analysts welcomed this move.
“It will open up opportunities for software and hardware but the core theme should be on simplification which would benefit an end user,” said Sanchit Vir Gogia, Chief Analyst and CEO, Greyhound Research.
However, he added that Oracle hasn’t done justice to sectors like hotels in India, which are currently struggling with Oracle’s lack of preparedness to meet the upcoming deadline, which is definitely becoming a sore point in their relationship.
